 Do you believe that "What is meant to be will be" and "Everything happens for a reason" statement?

Since i love those quotes so much, I made both of them as a principle of my life in which I surrendered my life at whatever was going to happen because i believe that every single thing  occurred in my life it have been planned by Him with a reason that maybe I do not even know but for sure, it's the best for me .
What is meant to be will be. I always try hard if i want something, for example, I really want to go to a that concert  or like when i was really admire one guy and I want him to be a mine. No matter how hard I've tried, but if it weren't for me, then it's not going to happen.
Everything happens for a reasonI believe that every single thing in my life has  a reason behind it all. Whether  it's good or not though. 

 I believe in this quote after  experienced some "sad" thing like few years ago I have a good or you can name it as a perfect relationship with one guy , we feel like we are the best couple in the world at that time. 

But suddenly we have to separate. 

No exact reason.  

Sad?

 After that (seperated) I just knew  that he's not the best guy I guess, like i've been blinded by love at that time, I didn't realize  his negative side.  

Well, since I believe that probably i've been seperated because actually he's not good for me, bring negative effects for me. Although it was really sad at that time but when i look back, I feel as if I was saved from danger.  

Shortly, everything happens in our life has already been planned by Him with reasons behind it all, something which are more beautiful that even we can not imagine at the time.
